1. Netflix
You knew this was going to be our first must-have as an apartment renter. Netflix is our go-to app for all things TV, movies and entertainment. For as little as $7.99 a month, you can have access to numerous TV shows and movies.
Many apartment renters will choose to forgo cable and just use Netflix. We recommend using it over any other streaming app because you can’t beat the cost or quality.
2. Instacart
Instacart is a new app on the scene and apartment renters are taking advantage of this great service. Instacart is an affordable grocery delivery service that’s available seven days a week.
You select groceries through an app from various stores such as Publix, Costco and Whole Foods and the order is delivered to you by a personal shopper. Same day grocery delivery is almost always available, as well.
You may have to pay a small delivery fee, but it’s a small price for spending the day in your PJs on the couch instead of fighting the crowds at the grocery store.
3. Mint
Apartment renters who are budget-savvy will enjoy using Mint to track their personal finances and spending. Since many renters are following a strict budget, Mint helps them stay on track.
The free app allows you to add in all of your income sources and attach your bank accounts. It will notify you when you’re close to going over your budget or when specific bills are due so you don’t forget to pay them.
4. Venmo
Venmo is most notably known as the payment app for millennials, but it’s one of the most popular apps used among apartment renters, too. If you have a roommate, you can use Venmo to split bills such as utilities and even groceries.
When you go out with friends, it makes it extremely easy to quickly pay people back for food or drinks. In general, Venmo is a great app to have if you’re an apartment renter and it will come in handy when you’re dealing with any type of payment.
5. Uber
No matter where you live, it’s likely that you use Uber to get around your city from time to time. Statistics show that more renters use Uber than homeowners, so it’s definitely on our list of top apps to have as an apartment renter.
Use Uber to catch affordable rides around town so you don’t have to always drive or fight for parking. Or use it when you have a few free hours and want to make a couple extra bucks driving people around.
6. Postmates
Postmates and other food delivery services make apartment renters’ lives much easier by offering affordable delivery from multiple restaurants in your area.
Now residents can enjoy delicious food from dozens of nearby restaurants without having to leave the house. Talk about convenience! Postmates and other food delivery service apps are changing the game for apartment renters.
7. Evernote
Staying organized is key. Evernote helps you stay organized, manage your to-do lists, and holds you accountable with tasks on your plate.
Plus, the app can sync with Chrome, so you can review your notes from practically everywhere.
There’s an app for everything.
The old saying is true.
If you want convenience, you’ll find it in Instacart and Postmates. Perhaps you’re just looking for efficiency, so you choose to use Venmo and Evernote.
Whatever the situation might be, we recommend apartment renters utilizing these seven apps to their advantage.
